How to use

Back to InvoiceBasket

A quick guide to using InvoiceBasket, and how to install it on your phone or computer.

1. Set up your business profile

After you sign up and pick a plan, go to Settings and fill in your business name, address, tax/VAT number, country, phone, and — if you'd like — a logo. If you want your invoices to show your bank details so clients know where to pay you, add your account name, bank, IBAN, and BIC there too. Everything here appears on every invoice you send.

2. Create and send an invoice

From Invoices, fill in your client's name (and email, if you want to send it directly), add one or more line items with a description, quantity, price, and VAT rate, pick a currency and due date, then save. Each invoice gets a shareable link you can send to your client — they don't need an account to view or pay it. Mark it as Sent, and later as Paid or Overdue, to keep track of who owes you what.

3. Upload or scan receipts and invoices to track your books — Bookkeeping and Get Paid plans

From Transactions, scan or upload a photo or PDF of a receipt or invoice — it reads the vendor, date, and amount automatically and files it under a category. You can also add a transaction manually, and edit anything the scan got wrong. Your Dashboard updates live with your total income, expenses by category, and profit. When you're ready to hand numbers to your accountant (or yourself), use Export for an Excel or PDF summary.

4. Get paid online — Get Paid plan

Go to Settings → Get paid online and connect your own Stripe account — a short, Stripe-hosted setup that takes about 5–10 minutes with your bank details and a form of ID. Once connected, every invoice you send gets a "Pay now" button your client can use to pay by card. The money goes straight to your own Stripe account — InvoiceBasket never holds or touches it — and the invoice marks itself as paid automatically once the payment goes through.

5. Install InvoiceBasket as an app

InvoiceBasket works entirely in your browser, but you can also add it to your phone's home screen or your computer's desktop so it opens like a regular app — no app store needed.

On an iPhone or iPad (Safari)

Open invoicebasket.com in Safari, tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow pointing up), scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.

On Android (Chrome)

Open invoicebasket.com in Chrome, tap the menu in the top right, then tap Install app (sometimes shown as Add to Home screen). Chrome sometimes offers this automatically too — look for an install banner or icon near the address bar.

On a computer (Chrome or Edge)

Open invoicebasket.com, then look for an install icon at the right of the address bar (usually a small monitor or a "+" in a box). Click it and choose Install. If you don't see the icon, open the browser's ⋮ or ··· menu and look for Install InvoiceBasket….
